Mortar waterproofing

RELATED MATERIALS

ADINOL-DM Waterproofing admixture for mortars and non-reinforced concrete

I. NATURE OF THE PROBLEM – REQUIREMENTS

In many of the applications usually found in construction the use of waterproof mortars is often required, in order to eradicate problems of moisture and ensure long life and functionality for buildings.

II. SOLUTION

ADINOL-DM, which is a waterproofing admixture for cement mortars, cement-lime mortars, and concrete, is used for the creation of water-repellent mortars. It prevents the formation of gaps and thesegregation. It plasticizes the mixture, facilitating the mortar’s application. It increases resistance to the effects of erosion. Watertightness is achieved through the uniform distribution of water-repellent active ingredients. With the addition of ADINOL-DM, damage from moisture is hindered, and the building’s useful life is significantly prolonged.

ADINOL-DM is used for the preparation of waterproof cement mortars, plaster, and concrete. If it is used in reinforced concrete, this must be taken into account when studying-designing the concrete’s composition.

III. APPLICATION

ADINOL-DM may be added:

  • To the mixing water during the preparation of concrete or mortar.

  • To the ready mix shortly before it is used. In this case, in order for ADINOL-DM to be mixed uniformly into the mass of the material, it should be mixed well for 4-5 minutes.

Dosage

  • For mortars: 1% by cement weight.

  • For plaster: 1% of the bonding material’s weight (cement + lime).

  • For concrete: 0,8% by cement weight.

IV. REMARKS

  • Excessive dosage causes retardation of setting time and decrease of final strength.
